we are small but mighty.

Welcome to the Susquehanna University Paul Danelley Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America's very own blog. As a growing chapter, we began to wonder how we could continue growing our brand through various forms of social media. That's when we decided it was time to launch a website where interested parties could contact us directly, view information about our events, and see what our students are up to.
“PRSSA has allowed me to grow as a communications student and has given me the opportunity to truly envision myself in a communications role after graduation.”
Over the past year, we have been brainstorming ways to make our club a vital moving part on the Susquehanna campus. This has pushed us to plan more events, be more active on social media, and to partner with other campus organizations.
Our Involvement
#Event planning has become a big part of what we do here at PRSSA. Last semester we hosted two events, planned fully by students. We hosted the #MoveTheLine campaign and registered 107 donors, having the potential to save over 800 lives. We won first place in #Pennsylvania for this campaign, being top 4 in the nation with a international recognition from PRSA. We also won a Central PRSA Pennsylvania Keystone Award for our #OrganDonationAwareness campaign.
We teamed up with a professor on campus to plan a #WineTasting event where research was conducted to determine a taster's opinion on canned versus bottled wine.
This fall we planned a #CysticFibrosis awareness fundraiser. We raised $490 and had 15 teams participate in a Volleyball Fundraiser. Both students and faculty participated in this event. Other moving parts to this fundraiser included teaming up with Aramark (SU Dining Services) who allowed us to advertise our event at dining locations. They also very generously donated snacks for the event. We teamed up with WQSU, our campus radio station, as well.
We are currently working with WQSU again to help promote their 19th Annual Toys For Tots Toy drive. Students are creating press releases, news stories, and social media content for WQSU.
